The name of the new show is 'The Element'.
The show has a sub-genre of Si-Fi, as the characters use science to solve the crimes.
There are three main characters:
DC. Robert Jones - A Middle-aged English man. He has worked for the police as a detective for around 20 years, he likes to get to the bottom of a crime and will not rest until it is done. So he is very dedicated to his work, and he is very well respected by the citizens for it.
DC. Jack Smith - A young Irish man. He has just joined the police force and doesn't really know what he is doing, his first case he has to help DC. Jones, who isn't very fond of the newbie, he is not very good at his job at first and it the clumsy type as he gets a few important things wring within the series.
The Aliens - The Aliens have fallen to earth from their home planet as a result of their spaceships flying to close to Earth. When they have landed on earth their first instinct is to kill anything that they see. They are slowly destroying the world. There is one alien in particular who see's the Earth's true beauty and does not want to destroy it, so instead he teams up with the police to try and stop these killing machines. But will they find the right element in need to stop them in time?
The target audience for this show is 18-30 year olds. This is the target because it is a very modern show. Also, the show will be shown pre-watershed so the general audience would be older, and it also allows us more freedom with the language and actions we can use. Another reason why i chose this audience is because of the channel it is going to be shown on is aimed at that age range as it is a very modern channel so it should attract the right type of audience that i am looking for.
The time is would be shown is 10pm, on E4.
Each episode will be 40 minutes long.
The First episode:
the first scene is the aliens falling from space, using special effects we would be able to show the spaceship falling from the sky and landing in a children's park in the middle of the day, already killing by crushing children underneath, we will then see the spaceship opening and then aliens are introduced, a few children run up to the aliens but are then killed by them. we then cut to the police office where DC. Jones is sitting at his desk, then being called into the Sargent's office, he is then told about what has happened and that he is the only one who would be able to solve this. DC. Jones is then told he would have to work with the newbie as part of his training (DC. Smith). They are then sent away to investigate this case.
