Current Level For Film Project.

At the moment, my film is at a level 4.
To progress to level 5 i need to make it clear that the film genre is comedy, right from the start. Also i need to finish the filming and the voice over (plus any other editing) to make the film more clear as to what is going on and what it is all about. I also need to make sure that the clips and audio are more smoother and easier to watch.

Now you see me – Script.


Now you see me – Script



First scene of the movie trailer is Emily Smith sleeping safely in her bed. The lighting is very low key,

with a lot of shadows. She is then awoken by a sudden sound. She shoots up out of her slumber.

The titles begin to appear on screen.

There is a scene showing Emily laughing and joking being happy without any clue of what is about to

come. The lighting is high key, and the setting is still Emily’s bedroom.

The shot then cuts to a title saying ‘when the evil come looking’

Then we will see another shot of Emily, happy, clueless.

Another title will appear and say ‘her life…. Will never be the same’

Then the shot will cut to a low key hallway in school setting, with a dark figure standing in the door

way, lights flickering as they are standing there. The lights will be cut off so there is nothing able to be

seen apart from the silhouette of the figure through the light from the door or window behind them.

There will then be a scene of Emily running in a panic, followed by the figure shortly following her

behind, not in so much of a panic, they are walking.

Another title would appear saying ‘there is no hiding’

The shot will them cut to the school toilets, it is a mixture of high key and low key lighting as the lights

begin to flicker again.

The figure is standing very still staring at the closed doors of the cubicles.



Figure:  you can run Emily, but you can’t hide.



The shot then cuts to Emily sitting on one of the toilets knees up breathing heavily. The shot then cuts

back to the figure, it then moves quickly and starts to slam the cubicle doors open.

A title shoots onto the screen which is a review from a magazine/film company helping promote the

film.

The shot then cuts back to Emily sitting in the toilet panicking even more.

Then another review.

Cuts back to the figure getting closer to the cubicle that Emily is in.

Another Review.

The figure is now at the cubicle that Emily is hiding in; the lighting is now in high key as the lights have

stopped flickering. There is a pause. The figure smiles. Slams the door open, Emily is not in there.



The next shot it the final titles (credits) followed by the last shot which is the release date.





END.

             This is the school gate, in which we will be using for when Emily gets caught trying to skip school.

This is Emily's bed, this is the first Scene where she wakes up. 

This is the stairs Emily will be running up to get to the kitchen in the 3rd scene. 

This is Emily's kitchen, where her mum will be making coffee in the 4th scene. 


This is the bathroom Emily will come to when she checks her reflection and realises there isnt one in the 2nd scene.

Hobbies: Hanging out with Tilly and Emily, likes to draw and design dresses.
Description of character role: She is one of Emily’s so called friends who is talking behind her back with her best friend Tilly Hanner.

The websites we were asked to use were:

http://www.BBFC.co.uk – This is the website i used to research the different age certificates for films, and how to find the appropriate one for my film. I have come to the conclusion that PG (parent guidance) would be the most suitable for my film. This would then allow me some freedom in the choice of language and actions that the characters would use.

http://www.imbd.com/ – I used this website to look at some comedy films and find out how much they would cost to make and how much money the film makers got back from the release, and how much it made in the first day etc…

    The figures shown above are mainly big budgeted films, and they didn't make the whole money back. Of the final gross total, a massive 60% goes straight to the cinema, and only a small 40% goes to the distributer. So even with the film ‘shark tale’ which did make a profit, when you take that 60% away, you will then realise that in fact the distributers didn’t make a huge profit. So this made me realise that ideally i would need to make my film on a low budget, so when i am left with the 40%, i still made a profit. One example of a film with a huge profit is the lion king. The Lion king cost 79 million to make, and got 771 million back (and still counting!)
So even when you take the 60%, you are still left with a huge profit.
 Ratings are also very important; the lion king got a high rating of 8.3 stars which helped promote the film even more which is one of the main purposes of ratings.   A film which had a big budget but had the same effect was Inception. The budget 160 million, and got the overall gross 820 million (without taking the 60% away) . It also got a high rating of 8.9 stars. reading  this information has made me and my group realise we don't need a big budget for our film, we can have a small budget and make the money back, plus extra profit.

This gave us a rough idea on what we needed to include in our website, and how to set the website out for a younger audience. it showed us what appeals to the younger audience and what doesn't, we know what to include and what not to include. 


http://www.diaryofawimpykidmovie.com/ - on this website they had the same as the other. Games, stories, music, character profiles, videos and photos. Everything is child-like and appeals to the audience. This website helped us develop an idea of what we need to think about, and what we would need to include to keep everyone interested.

Adverts That Do Not Work...... (Homework)


 - this advert is supposed to advertise the mobile phone company 'T-mobile'. Personlly, i do not think this advert fits it's purpose, it is entertaing, and fun to watch but it dose not relate to buying a new mobile phone, i do not see how people singing and dancing around a airport sells mobile phones...? there is nothing to indicate that it is 'T-mobile' until the end of the advert when there logo and there slogan appear on screen, which could confuse people. i dont think people after watching this video would be 100% convinced to buy a T-moblie phone, as the advert is supposed to do.
